International Partnership Film Hub joins ERIAC Membership 2025
The “Critical Film & Image Hub” at the Research Centre on Antigypsyism was accepted and welcomed to join the membership of the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC). This marks an important step for enhancing the cooperation between the Film Hub, ERIAC and the wide ERIAC membership across Europe, which includes many recognized and outstanding filmmakers.

ERIAC recently adopted a new organizational strategy that gives an increasing attention to Romani representation in film and media. ERIAC promotes the work of Romani filmmakers and producers, as well it offers fellowships and other opportunities to access film festivals, film markets and funding opportunities. In May 2025, ERIAC introduced its first Film Pitch Deck to promote selected films of Romani filmmakers and allies at the Marché du Film at the International Film Festival in Cannes.
ERIAC’s Executive Director Timea Junghaus welcomes the membership and highlights the importance of the international network: “ERIAC was founded with a clear and powerful vision: to establish a space for contribution, creativity, and collaboration, acknowledging the immense talent and productivity within the Roma artistic and cultural world. The arts and culture domain is precisely where we, Roma, can actively shape and build an independent institution that reflects our identity, aspirations, and creative excellence. “
The “Critical Film & Image Hub” has committed to the ERIAC mission. In particular, the Film Hub contributes to advance the efforts for the deconstruction of antigypsyism in visual culture, and for the dignified representation and empowerment of Roma in media and film. The Film Hub offers several years of expertise, academic research and publications in the field. This year’s annual priority theme – the representation of Roma and Sinti in Holocaust-Film – can create additional synergies to the ERIAC work in the field of history and commemoration.
